About Brenda Smith-Chant

Dr. Brenda Smith-Chant is the Director of Research, Self-Regulation Institute. Prior to becoming a researcher, Brenda was a therapeutic foster parent for teenage girls in a small community north of Algonquin Park. This was the motivation to become a university research professor and Director of Research at the Self-Regulation Institute. In addition to teaching about child development, the development of children with exceptionalities, and the science behind teaching techniques, Brenda focuses on community-university partnerships.
