We are seeing an “epidemic” of emotional dysregulation in very young children resulting in parent-child relationship disturbances as well as expulsion from child-care environments, preschools, and early elementary school.

Teachers and other professionals express feelings of being unprepared to handle these problems and the training of professionals has been inadequate in preparing professionals to work manage these problems.

This video focuses on contributors to emotional dysregulation and makes recommendations for interventions that are supportive of the child rather than behavioural interventions that perpetuate the dysregulation. Watch it here.
