  • "SRSS: Simply Stated, Restores Sanity! My experiences with the Self-Reg Summer Symposium have been nothing less than the best form of Professional and Personal Development in many years. My initial thinking was that SSRS is like the wonderful experience of summer camp where you get to meet and learn with amazing people, leaders, and participants. I have bumped this up a notch to a summer retreat status where everyone is welcomed with open arms, relationships are built and nurtured, learning deepens and continues. Staying in residence allows for further connecting with others and you don't have to make meals either. Looking forward to SSRS 2018!"    -Marilyn [...]

  • "SRSS 2017 was such an inspirational week of learning! It was motivating to have met so many like-minded individuals reaffirming for me the powerful impact Self-Reg has on everyone. I left feeling such a renewed hope of not only being able to help students but also to live a much calmer and happier life.  To top it all off, Trent University's picturesque landscape just made the learning experience perfect.  SRSS is something every Self-Regger should experience at some point in their Self-Reg learning journey!" -Claudio Moschella

  • “The Self-Reg Symposium is my favourite professional development event! Each summer I look forward to hearing Stuart and other Self-Reg speakers, having “aha” moments, making connections with other Self-Reg advocates and helping to facilitate the learning of others. The best part is being able to practice Self-Reg at the event: in between sessions, I’ve been able to restore my energy by bike riding, canoeing, and jogging on the beautiful Trent University campus.” -Vicki Parnell

SRSS 2018 will explore the themes of resilience, perseverance, and motivation through a variety of learning experiences, including keynotes by Dr. Shanker and Dr. Jean Clinton and breakout sessions led by members of the TMC team. This year we’re offering some exciting new features!

  • Self-Reg talks: short entertaining research talks related to Self-Reg
  • Small group sharing and planning time
  • Full-circle sessions to review and discuss the day’s learning
  • Special sessions on personal Self-Reg, stories from the field and parenting

We’ve been taking soundings from the thousands of parents and educators involved with TMC to determine the theme of SRSS 2018. The overwhelming response has been: “To reframe resilience, perseverance and motivation through the lens of Self-Reg.” And as always, our parents and educators got it exactly right!
