In response to diverse student needs highlighted during the pandemic, SVSD developed a multifaceted program. Based on neuroscience and trauma research, this initiative includes co-regulation rooms equipped with activities that help students reset and refocus. These rooms, coupled with staff education on trauma, empower students to learn coping mechanisms through body and cognitive tools. The program, funded through grants, aims to instill resilience in elementary and middle school students, fostering a positive learning environment.
