Self-Reg : les cinq étapes clés pour transformer le comportement

Les enfants peuvent acquérir à tout âge les compétences de Self-Reg et mon objectif premier est de vous montrer comment aider votre enfant à s’autoréguler. Vous apprendrez à lire les signes de votre enfant, à comprendre la signification de ses comportements, à reconnaître et réduire les facteurs de stress et à engager votre enfant dans ce processus de prise de conscience de soi, au lieu d’essayer de supprimer ou de contrôler ce qu’il pense, ressent ou fait. Vous aiderez votre enfant à faire l’expérience du ressenti du “calme”, à accéder à cet état ou le créer lorsqu’il en ressent le besoin. 

Ces cinq étapes de Self-Reg deviendront une seconde nature pour vous :

  1. Lire les signes et recadrer le comportement
  2. Reconnaître les facteurs de stress
  3. Réduire le stress
  4. Réfléchir. Prendre conscience des moments de stress excessif
  5. Rétablir l’énergie. Savoir ce qui vous aide à vous calmer, vous reposer et récupérer

Self-Reg: The Five Core Steps to Transforming Behavior

Children of all ages can learn Self-Reg skills, and my primary goal is for you to learn how to help your child self-regulate. You’ll learn to read your child’s signs and understand what your child’s behaviors mean, to identify stressors and reduce them, and to engage your child in this process of self-awareness rather than trying to suppress or control what he is thinking, feeling, or doing. You’ll help your child experience what “calm” feels like and learn how to access or create that state when he feels the need. 

These five Self-Reg steps will become second nature to you:

  1. Read the signs and reframe the behavior.
  2. Identify the stressors.
  3. Reduce the stress.
  4. Reflect. Become aware of when you’re overstressed.
  5. Respond. Figure out what helps you calm, rest, and recover.

Transforming behavior begins with reframing. Each of the five steps is something you can learn to do routinely for yourself in the moment. (continue to read the book Self-Reg)
