In this video, I speak with TMC teaching assistant and research assistant Travis Francis about Dr. Stuart Shanker’s latest article for Psychology Today“Help, I Don’t Speak Limbic.”

Stuart’s presentations and writing, along with some of the tools we have developed at TMC, have sparked a great deal of interest and discussion about the brain’s limbic system and how it affects children’s wellbeing, learning and behavior.

We wanted to deepen our understandings of the limbic system and its relationship to wellbeing and self-regulation. So we explored our take-aways from Stuart’s blog on the topic in this first edition of our new Zoom chat series.

We talk about what’s going on in the brain when kids and teens “go limbic.”  We also discuss our experiences and learnings about the limbic system and the triune brain and how they have helped us apply the Shanker Method of Self-Reg™.
