Shanker Self-Reg® brings together ideas from neuroscience, neurobiology, developmental psychology, physiology, philosophy, education, and other fields to explore stress, brain-body state, behaviour, relationships, and self-regulation.
That interdisciplinary lens has created rich connections with people working across many allied health and helping professions. Psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, counsellors and therapists, speech-language professionals, and others bring their own knowledge and experience to the questions Self-Reg asks.
We don’t see Self-Reg as replacing those perspectives. It gives us another way to wonder about what may be happening within a person, between people, and across the different areas of a life. And because the same science applies to all of us, it can also invite reflection on our own stress, energy, states, and relationships within the work.
Explore the ideas that connect most naturally with your interests, questions, and work.
