By Sara Demmings
This was written by Sara as part of her reflection on enhancing stress awareness from ourĀ Self-Reg Foundations program.
What if stress was understood
Would we respond like we should?
What if stress was viewed as a trigger
Something that makes a situation seem bigger
What if stress was the reason why
The reason for the behaviour, their cry
What if stress was the ultimate cause
The reason why they need that pause
What if stress could be turned around
Where positivity could finally be found
What if stress was not a negative term
What if it was something that helped us learn
What if stress was viewed in a different light
A view of newness and growth instead of fright
What if stress was seen with curiosity and passion
A situation where learning can happen
What if stress was understood
Would we respond like we should?
Hi Sara,
The art and science combined in your poem.
Your heart and brain speaking to each other to create a lovely piece of poetry.
I agree, Danka! This is a post that I go back to frequently.
